Quinton Lamar Kendrex Sr. age 58 of Independence passed away on March 9, 2019 at St Johns Medical Center in Tulsa, OK.

Quinton was born on May 16, 1960 in St Louis, MO to Leon Kendrex and Barbara Smith Jefferson. He attended grade school in Decatur, IL then the family moved to Coffeyville in 1969 where he continued his education at Field Kindley High School where he was active in track and field. He graduated from high school in Topeka; he then received his associate’s degree in applied science. Quinton spent most of his career as a laborer; he also played in a traveling band for some time and most recently as a chef and was working for Down Home Family Restaurant. He had married Sheretta Chapman and the couple later divorced. On February 13, 2002 he was united in marriage to Rosslynn Ledman. Those that knew Quinton best will remember how hilariously funny he always was, his genuine care, love, and concern for his friends and family, his compassionate and giving spirit, and his basic knowledge of history. Quinton liked playing dominoes, chess, listening to music, spending time with his family, and studying the Bible. Quinton longed for a strong relationship with God and he had found that.
