Darell Dean Aderton age 72, passed away in Coffeyville, Kansas at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, Thursday, October 04, 2012. After years of battling cancers, the fight had been taken out of him, there is no more pain and he is at peace.
The family has entrusted FordWulfBruns Chapel with the arrangements. Cremation has taken place an inurnment will be held at a later date.
Darell was born August 13, 1940 in Vandalia, Missouri. Darell is survived by his daughter, Kathy Hicks and son in law, Trapper Hicks son JJ Gose and daughter in law, Kim Gose granddaughter, Dustina Chapman, her husband Marcus Chapman granddaughter, Lacey Barnett grandsons, Jimmy Gose and Corey Barnett three great grandchildren, with one on the way. He also had an older brother, Franklin and also a twin brother, Harell. Darell also leaves behind numerous family members and friends in Farber and Vandalia, Missouri.
Darell returned to South Coffeyville and Wann, Oklahoma area in 2005 after retiring from Ft. Myers, Florida, where he worked as courthouse security. He loved his family, NASCAR, the OU Sooners and his dogs. He drove a school bus for Oklahoma Union for several years until pancreatic cancer forced him to retire. He had mentioned several times that he missed driving the bus and seeing the children grow up.
Darell had many talents he was a long haul truck driver, manager for Orscheln Farm Stores, a salesman, and a prison guard. He owned an auto parts store, and later a security and private detective business at Grand Lake for years.
He loved going to the dirt track and watching the race cars, like those he built and drove during his younger years.
He was also so fond of NASCAR that he could recount every car and driver and their respective stats. Dad you will be dearly missed.
