Alvin Leon Kuehn of South Coffeyville passed away peacefully on August 21, 2026, at the age of 85.
Alvin was the first born to Alvin George and Beulah (Hodges) Kuehn. He was born on the family farm on August 23, 1940. At the age of six he began school at St. Paul’s Lutheran School until three years later when the school closed. From there, he attended Wright school throughout his elementary years and graduated in 1958 from Lenapah High School in Lenapah, Oklahoma.
Leon was a lifetime member of St. Pauls Lutheran Church where he was baptized and later confirmed. He also served three years of being an elder at church.
In 1960 Leon married Cheryl Frances of South Coffeyville. To this union two sons were born, Earnest Leon and Andrew Lee. The couple later moved to Wichita, Kansas, where Leon worked for several grocery stores and sold Stanley products. The couple later divorced.
In 1973 he met and married Glenna Don Lewis at Bethany Lutheran in Wichita, Kansas on July 14, 1973. A few years later, the couple moved to South Coffeyville, Oklahoma and Leon began working for Funk manufacturing in Coffeyville. Leon and Glenna enjoyed each other’s company traveling to Branson Missouri to see shows and enjoyed going to the flea markets and auctions.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, Glenna of 52 years of marriage, his parents Alvin and Beulah Kuehn, brother-in-law, Frank Pfister Jr., sister-in-law, Sandra Kuehn.
Leon survived by his son‘s Ernie and Andrew, brothers Wayne and Jerry Kuehn, and sister Karen (Rick) Johnson all of South Coffeyville, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2026, at 10:30am at St. Pauls Lutheran Church, 506 W 9th St, of Coffeyville. The family will receive friends from 9:30am until service time at the same location. The family suggest memorials to be made to St. Pauls Lutheran Church of Coffeyville.
