Ann Datson

Ann Datson, 90, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on June 7, 2015 at Cherryvale Nursing Home.

Mrs. Datson was born September 24, 1924 at rural Dearing, Kansas to Ralph Wesley and Myrtle (Miller) Fitzsimmons.

She graduated in 1942 from Field Kindley High School and attended Coffeyville Community Junior College.

On June 18, 1944 she married Richard Gordon Datson at the Coffeyville Air Base Chapel. From 1943 to 1945 Mrs. Datson worked as a bookkeeper at Cudahy Packing; 1951-62 at Continental Can Company as a secretary; and Rockwell International in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a secretary of Contracts, Estimating, and Pricing Department until retiring in February of 1985. Mr. Datson is retired from Farmland Industry as an engineering technician.

Mrs. Datson was a member of the First Christian Church of Coffeyville, Laureate Mu Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, Azrim Temple of Pittsburg, Daughters of the Nile Club of Coffeyville, and AARP Chapter 2883, serving as treasurer.

She is survived by her husband, Richard of the home; two sons, Steven Datson and wife Connie of Coffeyville, Kansas, Timothy Datson of Coffeyville, Kansas, four grandchildren, Tamecca, Tiffany, Carmen and Chuck Datson; 5 great grandchildren and sisters, Eugenia Lewis of Fulton, Missouri, Doris Joe Arell of Coffeyville, Kansas, and Sue Gillis of Chanute, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Myrtle; an infant brother, John and sisters, Carolyn Cullison, Beulah McCall, Jackie Guinn.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 11, 2015 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Kansas. Pastor Gordon Willhite will officiate. Interment will follow at Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville. Visitation hours will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel.
