Anna L. Nicholas, 100, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Friday, April 4, 2014 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville.

Anna was born on April 20, 1913 to Ernest and Theresa Whitehead Sproul. She grew up in Coffeyville where she achieved her high school education from Field Kindley Memorial High School and continued her education at Coffeyville Community College. She was united in marriage to George Kirby of that union a son was born. The couple later divorced. She was united in marriage to Walter Nicholas, the couple made their home in Coffeyville. He preceded her in death in 1988.

Anna worked as a retail clerk for many years at the old Foodtown Grocery Store that used to be on east Eighth Street. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. Most of all she loved to spend time with her family and friends.
Surviving to honor her memory is her daughter, Theresa Widder and husband, John of Carol Steam, Illinois daughterinlaw, Beverly Fowler of Wichita, Kansas granddaughters, Rebecca Jensen and husband, Mark of Elgin, Illinois, Dee Ann Litz and husband, Steve of Wichita, Kansas great grandchildren Dacye and Ridley Jensen, Tabitha, Patrick, Kristen, Colton and Cassidy Litz, Tristan Kirby and a greatgreat grandson, Landon Scott. She was also survived by her dear friends, JoAnn and Ernest Babcott of Dearing, Kansas and Arelia Wolf of Florida.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Theresa loving husband, Walter son, Larry Kirby grandson, Brian Kirby and by a brother, James Sproul.

Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas with the Pastor Doug Mund of the Grace Fellowship Church officiating. Friends may call on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville to sign the guest register. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Salvation Army CSV these may be left with the funeral home.
