Anne Elizabeth Ketterman died Thursday, May 15, 2014, at Windsor Place. She was 89.
She was born Anne Elizabeth Darby on June 11, 1924 in Manhattan, Kansas, the daughter of Earl and Henrietta Jones Darby. Her childhood was spent in Manhattan where she attended high school and graduated with a degree in Child Welfare from Kansas State College of Agriculture and Applied Science, Manhattan. She married the love of her life, William Robert Ketterman, on August 9, 1947 in Manhattan, Kansas. They moved to Coffeyville in 1962, where they have remained.
Anne was a fulltime mother and housewife. She was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church. She created awardwinning needlepoint and crocheted items and left many handmade mementos for her family. She volunteered as both a Girl Scout troop leader and a Cub Scout den mother. The family spent many enjoyable vacations near Rocky Mountain National Park, watching birds and looking for wildflowers. After Bills retirement they travelled extensively and cheered on the KState Wildcats whenever possible.
Surviving are her husband, daughters Kathleen Anne Fred Anderson, Bear River City, Utah, and Deborah Lynn Philip Peterson, St Louis, Missouri, and son Kent Earl Loni Ketterman, Eagle River, Alaska. There are 15 grandchildren and 23 greatgrandchildren.
Her parents and two sisters preceded her in death.
Cremation has taken place under the direction of FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Kansas. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, May 19, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Coffeyville, Kansas. Inurnment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions in Annes name be made payable to the charity of your choice these may be left with the funeral home.
