Bette Pond

Bette L. Pond, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, 93, died on January 3, 2015 at St. Luke's North Hospital, Kansas City, MO from complications of pneumonia.

Bette was born August 9, 1921 in Coffeyville, KS the only child of Lee and Hazel (Bennett) Stump.

On June 29, 1940, she married George (Al) Pond in Vinita, OK. Following his naval service, they resided in Wichita, KS, Springfield, MO and finally settling back in Wichita, KS.

Bette was preceded in death by her husband, Al, after 52 years of marriage. She is survived by daughter, JP (Janice) Rand of Liberty, MO; son, Roger (Sandy) of Raymore, MO; her grandchildren, Celina (Paul) Sanchez, Annabelle, Grace and Hailey Scott and Azalea Helgerud.

Bette worked at different companies over the last 50 years, either in an office or sales capacity. She was proud to complete her High School GED in the 1970's after having to leave school during the depression era. She was of the Catholic faith and most recently a member of St. Charles in Gladstone. A Remembrance Service will be held on April 11, 2015 at 2:30 p.m. at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel in Coffeyville, KS with inurnment in the family burial estate, Liberty, KS.
