Betty Morris

Betty Jo Morris age 79, of Coffeyville, passed away on May 29,2016 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.

Betty was born in Wetumka, Oklahoma to Alvin and Susie (Brown) Hayes on September 23, 1936. Her parents moved to Coffeyville when she was 6 months old. She received her education in the Coffeyville school district attending Cleveland Elementary and graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1955.

On September 23, 1967 she was united in marriage to Charles H. Morris in Coffeyville. To this union two children were born, son Charles (Chuck) and daughter Roxie. Betty was a member of St. John Baptist Church for 60 years. if you wanted to know if she loved the Lord, just ask her and the testimony began, and when she spoke, it was words of wisdom, laughter, and love. She loved to read her Bible, learning about the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She loved Quartet Gospel Music. Betty was employed at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center for 24 years before her retirement. She served on the Usher Board and was part of the gospel choir at St. John Baptist Church

Left to cherish her memory are her son Charles Morris, daughter Roxie Morris, three sisters, Clitha Smith, Pansy Holt, and Margaret Lewis, 9 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren
