Billy Gillman

Billy Lee Gillman 86, passed away early Wednesday morning, July 5th 2017 at Winsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas.

He was born on November 16th, 1930 in Coffeyville, Kansas to William and Anna (Raczykowski) Gillman. Billy grew up and attended school in Coffeyville and spent the remainder of his life there.

Billy married Jacqueline Artherton (Martin) in 1959 and just achieved a 58 year anniversary on July 3rd. Jacqueline survives her husband and now resides in Independence.

Billy worked for the Montgomery County Works Department for 43 years doing whatever was required, but spent most of his employment driving a truck and working with a backhoe operator named Odes Jennings.

When he was at home he spent a lot of time hunting, fishing, gardening and junking. Anything within reach that could be taken apart was not safe around him. Even scarier was what he would try to make out of it. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone that was in need, and never met a stranger.

Survivors include his wife Jackie of Independence, one son Mike Gillman of Coffeyville, four daughters, Diane Wilson of Colorado, Kathy Cook of Coffeyville, Debbie Roberson of California, Dorothy Littleton of Independence, 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Anna, one sister and brother in law, Rosalea and Bob Heale.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, July 10, 2017 at 1pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 9, 2017 from 4 to 6 at the Chapel. Committal will take place at Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville off Hwy 166.
