Bob Hulet

Bob E. Hulet, 86, of Edna, Kansas passed away Monday, February 3, 2014 at CRMC in Coffeyville, Kansas.

Bob was born on February 6, 1927 in Labette County, Kansas to Henry and Laura Tipton Hulet. He grew up in Coffeyville where he earned his high school education from Field Kindley Memorial High School. On September 27, 1944 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Freda A. Maritt at the United Brethren Church in Coffeyville, Kansas now known as the Trinity United Methodist Church. The couple made their home in Coffeyville.

Bob worked for Page Milk Company in Coffeyville for twenty five years. He then opened and operated Hulet Wood Products selling wood furniture and custom pieces for twenty five years. Bob loved wood working. He was very good at making many things. He built rocking chairs for family members, along with many other novelty items like salt and pepper shakers, bread boxes, Wahoo boards, Christmas ornaments and many other things. In the 1970s he began building a cabin on Grand Lake in Oklahoma for him and Freda to enjoy and spent many wonderful years there. Bob also enjoyed building and racing boats. He was a member of the Oklahoma Boat Racing Association. He loved the water and being at the lake. Most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Surviving to honor his memory is his loving wife, Freda of the home grandchildren, Kim and Trent Tatman of Edna, Kansas, Melanie and Herb Adkins of St. Marys, Georgia, Jordan Garner of Aubrey, Texas great grandchildren, Micha Brown, Sydney Brown, Bobby Tatman, Ila Tatman, Madison Adkins, Morgan Adkins brother, James and Everyl Hulet of Highland Ranch, Colorado brotherinlaws, James and Virginia Maritt of Coffeyville, Kansas, Orlin and Hazel Maritt of Dewey, Oklahoma, Dean and Pat Maritt, Bob and Karen Maritt all of Coffeyville, Kansas and a sisterinlaw, Dorothy Maritt of Clinton, Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Laura his only child, Janet Elaine Hulet who passed away in January of 2002 brotherinlaw, Dan Maritt and a sisterinlaw, Helen Lucas.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Kansas. A Memorial Service will be held on February 15, 2014 at 11:00am at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Coffeyville, Kansas. Pastor Lee Passwater will officiate. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church these may be left with the funeral home.
