Bobbie Gaston

Bobbie L. Gaston age 86 passed away on March 14, 2020 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas.

Bobbie was born to W.E. and Katherine (Rinner) Lively in Woodward, Oklahoma.  She was one of eight children.  Bobbie and the Lively family resided in the Woodward area, where she completed her elementary and high school education.  On March 14, 1953 she married the love of her life Harold Lloyd “Jack” Gaston.  The couple relocated to the Coffeyville area when Jack accepted employment in the South East Kansas area.  Bobbie was employed by South Western Bell Telephone as an operator in Independence for over 38 years; she thoroughly enjoyed her job.

Bobbie was a spunky, fun loving person.  She enjoyed serving with the VFW Auxiliary, going dancing, playing the piano, traveling and trips to the casino.  Bobbie frequently went on bus trips offered by different organizations that happened to offer the best of both worlds; travel and casinos. She also had a love for animals but particularly dogs.  She and Jack raised Greyhound Dogs for several years.

Though Bobbie and Jack never had children of their own they enjoyed their numerous nieces and nephews.  Bobbie enjoyed snuggling newborn babies and watching the toddlers play.  She will be missed greatly by her family.

Bobbie is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, brother and sister in laws.  She was preceded in death by her parents, W.E and Katherine Lively; husband, Jack and 2 brothers and 5 sisters.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 19 from 4 to 7 pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville to share in memories and final goodbyes.  Graveside services will be held in Sharon, Oklahoma at the North Persimmon Cemetery on Saturday, March 21 at 1:00 pm where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Jack.  The family has requested memorial contributions to be made payable to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice, contributions may be left in care of the chapel.
