Bret Robert Hart a cherished husband, dad, son, and brother passed away on Friday, November 21st, 2025, at Methodist Main Hospital in San Antonio, Texas.
Bret was born on November 8th, 1972, in Enid, Oklahoma to Robert Lee and Donna Lee (Pratz) Hart. He was raised in Drummond, Oklahoma where he graduated high school, in which he developed a passion for agriculture by participating in Future Farmers of America (FFA), specifically in swine breeding and showing. Bret also received certification in auto body work in Enid Autry Technical School.
In the 1990’s, Bret’s parents relocated to Coffeyville, Kansas to manage the Bowser Mini Mart, where Bret soon followed. It was here that he met the love of his life, Monica Henry, through a mutual friend. Their friendship blossomed, leading to their marriage on November 14th, 2003. Bret embraced Monica’s children, Haylie and Drew, as his own. Together they welcomed their daughter, Callie Rae in 2004, completing their family unit of five. The Hart family first rooted in Coffeyville before moving to Topeka in 2014. However, in April 2023, they took a leap of faith by moving to Corpus Christi, Texas, to fulfill a lifelong dream of living by the beach- creating lasting memories, entertaining family and dear friends.
Bret’s professional endeavors included working at the family business, Bowsers Midget Mart, painted airplanes at Cessna, installations for Bell-Eck Heat n Air. He ran a vending route for Stephens Vending. Lastly, in Topeka, he served as a maintenance supervisor at SLI sheltered living. In Corpus Christi, he dedicated himself to caring for his wife and daughter, alongside his two furry adopted daughters, Maisey and Coconut.
Bret’s earlier years were filled with activities such as dirt track racing, bowling, autobody repairs. Most recently, he was enjoying going to plays, concerts and cruises. He loved “beaching it” with family and friends. He was a big Oklahoma University Sooner fan. He followed OU football and OU girls softball as well as the Chicago Cubs.
Bret is survived by his wife Monica, daughter Haylie Dixon, son Drew White, daughter Callie Hart; mother Donna Hart, brother Mark Hart and wife Sherry, grandchildren Caydin, Masen, Maeve, Elli, Brylin, and Abel; nieces Alissa, Kailey, and Kressa and nephew Kaleb. He was preceded in death by his dad Robert “Bob” Hart in 2016, Grandmother Marjorie Bowser, 2016, Grandfather Bill Bowser, 2002.
A celebration of Bret’s life will take place on Monday, December 1st, 2025, at 1pm at
Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, located at 2405 woodland Ave. Coffeyville, Kansas. The family asks friends to consider attending Bret fashion: comfy casual in red and white/OU apparel. The family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to the People Assisting Animal Control in Corpus Christi, in honor of Bret’s love for dogs or charity of their choice in leu of flowers.
