Bryan Roger Ryan

Bryan Roger Ryan, age 68 of rural Caney, passed away peacefully on Monday September 1, 2025 at Journey Home in Bartlesville, OK. It is fitting that he laid down his last labors on Labor Day.

Roger was born February 27, 1957 to Floyd Forest and Nevada Josephine (Smith) Ryan, in Coffeyville, Kansas. He grew up on the family farm not far over the Oklahoma line, which was on land originally owned by his Great, Great Grandfather Allen Gilbert, and later his Great Grandfather Thomas Hoffman. He attended Hoffman Elementary School and Lenapah High School.

On December 23, 1976 Roger married the love of his life, Jodie Carolyn Smith, at First Assembly of God Church in Coffeyville.

Roger proudly served his country in the Army before pursuing a career in the trucking industry, which he loved doing for over 30 years. He was employed with Shepherd Oil at the time of his passing. He had a very friendly personality and many of his customers and co-workers became his friends.

Roger preferred a simple, quiet life. He loved living in the country, working on motorcycles, gardening, and fishing and was quite an artist. He also loved his dog Teagan and a cold Mountain Dew.

He was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Nevada (Smith) Ryan, a brother Floyd Douglas Ryan and a sister Linda Joyce (Ryan) Womack.

He will be missed but his memory will live on in the hearts of his wife Jodie and his dog Teagan of the home, sister Debora Joy (Ryan) Broich and husband Tom of Manheim, Pennsylvania, an aunt, Vesta (Smith) Murdock of Coffeyville, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and many cousins and friends.
