Cara Haws

Cara Rachel Haws, aged 44, peacefully passed away on March 29, 2026, at Ascension St. John’s Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Born on November 1, 1981, in Coffeyville, Kansas, Cara entered this world amid great anticipation to her loving parents, Ronald “Ronnie” B. and Karen I. (Warren) Herriman. Despite being born with a heart defect, Cara’s vibrant spirit and joyful nature illuminated every room she entered.

Growing up in South Coffeyville, Cara and her family were faithful members of Emmanuel Chapel, where she found a spiritual home that was dear to her heart. She proudly graduated from South Coffeyville High School and further pursued her passion by earning an associate’s degree in photography from Coffeyville Community College.

Though petite in stature, standing just 4’ 11” on her best days, Cara’s warmth and love for others were larger than life. Her career path was marked by a genuine dedication to making others feel welcome — whether greeting travelers at local hotels, assisting customers at Wal-Mart, Dollar General, or working with medical supplies at The Prescription Shop. Each role was filled with her characteristic kindness and infectious smile.

Cara cherished special moments with her mother, delighting in their “Girls Day Out” rituals of pampering and laughter, traditions she lovingly continued with close friends. She always looked forward to fresh haircuts, elegant jewelry, and the small joys that brightened her days.

On June 6, 2020, Cara married her beloved Kris Haws, the man who captured her heart, in a beautiful ceremony at Emmanuel Chapel. Their home in Coffeyville became a place filled with love and companionship.

Known for her quick wit, caring nature, and genuine encouragement, Cara never met a stranger. She loved connecting with people, extending friendship generously, and taking the time to share a warm greeting or uplifting conversation. She was a devoted wife, a loving daughter and daughter-in-law, and a true friend to many. Her bond with her mother-in-law, Marilyn, was especially close — a testament to the love she gave so freely.

Cara’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She embraced her relationship with the Lord and Savior openly, joyfully sharing the Gospel and inviting others to the church she treasured. She found deep joy and strength in her Christian family, who held a special place in her heart.

Cara’s memory will forever bloom in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She is lovingly remembered by her devoted husband, Kris Haws; her mother-in-law, Marilyn Haws; her father-in-law, Loyal Haws, and his wife, Darlene. Her spirit lives on through the affection of her extended family — aunts Cheryl Warren and Kim Pasquale and husband Mike; uncles Brent Kimball, Eddie Kimball, Vic Herriman, and Michael Ward; and cousins Travis, Shondra, and Taylor. A treasured friendship with Seawanna Dickey, spanning more than three decades, was like sisterhood and a treasured gift in Cara’s life.

A celebration of Cara’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 2 p.m. at Emmanuel Chapel in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, followed by committal services at the Veterans Patio in Fairview Cemetery. She will be laid to rest at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery alongside her parents. Family and friends are invited to visit and share memories on Monday, April 6, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Kansas.

In honor of Cara’s loving spirit, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made to Emmanuel Chapel, reflecting the faith and community she cherished so deeply.

Cara’s life was a radiant light — one marked by love, faith, and joy — leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will forever inspire those privileged to know her.
