Carl G. Pendleton long time Coffeyville, Kansas resident, passed away on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at CRMC. He was 79 years old.

Carl was born on May 21, 1934 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Richard and Clara Bartlett Pendleton. He grew up in Dewey, Oklahoma. He served his country in the U.S. Army. Carl worked as a Movie Projectionist at the Dewey Theatre in the 1950s. At one time he worked for OK Rubber Welders in Galina, Kansas. He moved to Coffeyville where he was able to enjoy his true passion for music.

He was united in marriage to Patricia Buchannon she preceded him in death. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth Reynolds and of that union, two children were born. The couple later divorced. He was united in marriage to Nona Aleene Tapp the couple made their home in Coffeyville. Nona preceded him in death in 2010.

Carl had an enormous passion for music and instruments. He played in many countrywestern bands and owned and operated his own piano tuning business where he tuned pianos and fixed various kinds of instruments. For many years he worked at the Coffeyville Music Store. He also played music for local nursing homes and outside local storefronts with Pastor Joe Brooks. Carl was a member of the Alluwe Baptist Church and was honored to play music for his church family there for many years. He went once a month to Altoona to play music for the seniors dances. He enjoyed woodworking and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

Surviving to honor his memory are his daughters, Sheri Conn and husband, Charles of Coffeyville, Kansas, Gayla Sue Corser and husband, John of Coffeyville, Kansas, Carla Jean VanCleave and husband, J.R. of Wichita, Kansas, Brenda Elaine Jaimez and husband, David of Coffeyville, Kansas stepson Roger Tapp of Webb City, Missouri brother, Larry Pendleton of Chehalis, Washington sixteen grandchildren and sixteen greatgrandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Clara a stepson Tom Tapp and a stepdaughter Patricia Belknap.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Alluwe Baptist Church in Alluwe, Oklahoma. Pastor Weldon Foster will officiate. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alluwe Baptist Church these may also be left with the funeral home. Arrangements are being handled by FordWulfBruns Chapel of Coffeyville, Kansas.
