Carol Jean McDaniel, 73, of Coffeyville, Kansas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.
Carol was born on July 5, 1941 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Francis and Lola Monroe Berry. She grew up in Coffeyville where she received her high school education. Carol earned her Associate Degree from Coffeyville Community College and a Bachelors Degree from Pittsburg State University. Carol worked at Coffeyville Community College for many years serving as the Secretary to the Dean, Dr. Beck for many years.
On December 31, 1973 she was united in marriage to her loving husband, Herman A. McDaniel in Independence, Kansas. The couple made their home in Coffeyville. Carol worked for the Coffeyville Head Start and for the Coffeyville Journal. She spent her free time as a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her family.
She was a lifetime member of the Sardis First Missionary Baptist Church in Coffeyville. She played piano for the church for many years. She enjoyed playing dominos and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She adored her granddaughter and loved all the time she spent with her.
Those surviving to honor her memory are her husband, Herman of the home sons, Keenan Starnes of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Craig Starnes of Coffeyville, Kansas, Frank McDaniel of Coffeyville, Kansas granddaughter, Kylee Starnes of Bartlesville, Oklahoma uncles, Donald Morrison and wife, Alene of Coffeyville, Kansas Mamon Morrison of Richmond, Virginia a host of brotherinlaws, sisterinlaws and cousins.
A Home Going Service will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sardis 1st Missionary Baptist Church, 416 E 2nd St in Coffeyville, Kansas. Dr. V. O. Horn will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at FordWulfBruns Chapel from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Family will receive friends Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made payable to the Sardis 1st Missionary Baptist Church these may be left with the funeral home.
