Carol L. VanBuren Age 57, of Route 4, Coffeyville, Kansas, died Wednesday morning, August 18, 2004 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. Mrs. VanBuren was born October 26, 1946 in Caney, Kansas to James C. and Dovea Paasch Davis. In June of 1955, her family moved to Dearing, Kansas, where she attended school. She graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School in 1964. On August 27, 1965 she married Gary VanBuren in Coffeyville, Kansas, where the couple has since made their home. Mrs. VanBuren had been employed for 29 years by Funk Manufacturing Company where she was presently serving as a sales coordinator. She formerly had been employed by Jolly Kids, H.D. Lee and McKinley School. She was a member of Dearing United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary Post No. 20 Auxiliary and was a former member of Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 2459 Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. VanBuren is survived by: Her husband, Gary, of the home Two sons, Jeff VanBuren, of Mound Valley, Kansas Todd VanBuren, of Wichita, Kansas One daughter, Melody Braschler, of Coffeyville, Kansas Her mother, Dovea Davis, of Independence, Kansas One brother, James Davis, of Independence, Kansas Three grandchildren, Jessie VanBuren, Bailey Braschler and Carley Braschler. She is preceded in death by her father. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Monday, August 23, at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel with burial in Union Cemetery, northeast of Coffeyville. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. until 8 p.m., Sunday 1 until 8 p.m. The family will receive guests Sunday evening, 6:30 until 8 p.m. at the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. Memorials may be given to AWOL or Dearing United Methodist Church and may be left at the funeral home.
