Cecil Glen Kastler of rural South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, passed away on February 13, 2026, at CRMC in Coffeyville, Kansas, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 73.
Born on May 20, 1952, in Coffeyville, Kansas, Cecil was one of eight children born to Chester "Chet" and Demple (Howe) Kastler. He grew up in rural Labette County near Valeda, where he attended grade school in Valeda and graduated from Labette County High School in Altamont.
After high school, Cecil began his career working at various places, but most remembered for his time at Funks and later at Jencast. He also served as a custodian for the Labette County Unified School District, working in the Altamont School until the time of his death.
On February 14, 1981, Cecil married Elizabeth L. Sayer at the Valeda Methodist Church. They made their home just south of Valeda in rural South Coffeyville, where they raised their son, Leroy.
Cecil had a passion for sports and played fast pitch softball on the Kastler Family team in his younger years. He enjoyed cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs, playing a competitive game of Pitch, and watching classic TV shows, especially Gunsmoke. Known for his stubborn yet gentle nature, Cecil found joy in being at home, and his favorite outings were attending his grandchildren's sporting events and card nights with his family.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Elizabeth; his son Leroy Kastler and his wife Brittnay; and his cherished grandchildren, Paislie, Amelia, and Edison. He is also remembered by his brothers, Dean Kastler and wife Sharilyn, Clyde Kastler and wife Carol Jean, Clint Kastler and wife Jana, Chris Kastler and wife Paula, sisters Nancy Best and Ellen Sandusky, and a host of family and friends. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Charles "Harry" Kastler.
