Christine Montross

Christine Ann Montross, age 60, of Edna, Kansas died Friday, December 12, 2014 at her home in Edna, Kansas.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 19, 2014 at the St. Pauls Lutheran Church with the Reverend Richard Peckman officiating under the direction of the FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Kansas.

Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 18, 2014 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the FordWulfBruns Chapel.

The family has suggested memorials to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or the St. Pauls Lutheran Church and contributions may be left at the FordWulfBruns Chapel.

Christine Ann Montross was born May 27, 1954 in Oakland, California to Clifford Rex and Shirley Grey Olenhouse. She grew up in the Fredonia, LaFontaine area graduating from the Fredonia High School in 1972. Christine then graduated from Coffeyville Community College in 1974 becoming board certified in ASCP, AMT and HEW.

On March 19, 1989 Christine married Danny Montross in Chanute, Kansas. The couple made their home in Neosho, Missouri, Grove, Oklahoma before moving back to Edna, Kansas.

Christine worked at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center lab directormanager for 23 years. Christine worked at other hospitals Wesley in Wichita, Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center in Chanute, St. John in Joplin, Ponca City, Aureus and Labette County. She was a member of the St. Pauls Lutheran Church, vary Martha, quilting, bellschimeschoir at St. Pauls, evangelism board, and was very active in 4H and was a gold key recipient. She enjoyed crochet and knitting.

Survivors include her husband Danny Montross of Edna, Kansas one son Daniel Kolby Montross of Manhattan, Kansas and one sister Cindy Withers of Parsons, Kansas.
