Dale Barnhart

Dale "Edward" Barnhart, 72, of Arkansas City, passed away at his home on March 12, 2015.

He was born in San Fernando, CA on March 9, 1943 to Joseph Herbert and Zeolah Quindarrow Neely Barnhart. He family moved to Kansas when he was four where they made their home. He grew up in Liberty, Kansas where he went to Elementary and Junior High school. He graduated from Field Kinley High School in Coffeyville, Kansas in 1962. He worked during his high school years for different farmers in the area, mostly bailing hay for them during that time. After high school, he went to work for Starcraft Manufacturing in Independence, Kansas and worked there until they closed the plant.

Edward married the love of his life, Sandra Kay Stewart, of Liberty, Kansas on April 18, 1975 and made their home in Winfield, Kansas. He went to work at Skyline Corporation in Arkansas City, Kansas and moved to Arkansas City in 1977. He also worked at Binney & Smith as a security guard and also worked at Rubbermaid, both in Winfield for a few years until becoming disabled in 1992. Edward was a member of IXL Baptist Church in Arkansas City. He was a man after God's own Heart who loved his wife, family, and Lord and served all of them to the best of his ability even up to his last breath.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra of Arkansas City, son Kenneth of Tahlequah, OK, daughter Stephanie Hansen of Arkansas City, two granddaughters Ashley and Alexandria Hansen of Arkansas City, brother Howard of Coffeyville, Kansas, four sisters Ann Vannoster of Coffeyville, Mary Oglesby of Peerless, Montana, Ellen Howard of Port Arthur, Texas, and Judy Grove of Grove, OK, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his parents and a brother, Charles.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas. Rev Gary Brown of Park Place Baptist Church of Cushing, OK will be officiating. The family has suggested memorial contributions be made payable to American Kidney Foundation 6405 Metcalf Ave. Suite 204, Overland Park, KS 66202 and may be left in care of the funeral home. Committal will follow services at Liberty Cemetery in Liberty, Kansas.
