Darlene Mae Trollope

Darlene M. Trollope, age 80, passed away peacefully and was welcomed into the arms of Jesus at 10:35 PM on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at The Journey Home in Bartlesville, OK.

Darlene was born November 30, 1945 in Oswego, KS to Ralph and Berva (Hagan) DeCow. She spent her growing up years and much of her adult years living in Labette county. Darlene moved to Coffeyville in 2010 to be closer to family.

Darlene graduated from Labette County High School in Altamont in 1963. She worked at Glenn Berry Manufacturing Co. in Oswego, The Broderick Company in Parsons and did babysitting in her home. Darlene retired from Walmart in Parsons in 2009 after working 20 years in different capacities including as a department manager and door greeter.

Darlene married Tony Trollope in May 1965 and from this union came two children. David was born September 1966 and Robin was born on Darlene’s birthday in November 1968. They were later divorced.

Darlene enjoyed many talents and hobbies. Her family was active in the Altamont Saddle Club during her teen years. Darlene began steel guitar lessons as a young girl and participated in the Tulsa, OK international music festival where she performed a solo when she was 11 years old. She scored a 98 and won second place. Her family were very proud of her, but she kept that accomplishment to herself as she didn’t like to toot her own horn. Darlene was active in a weekly bowling league for many years, learned to square dance, made jewelry, was a seamstress, and enjoyed crocheting. Darlene was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Coffeyville where she had served as a Deacon, was involved in the women’s circle, was a faithful participant in adult Sunday School classes, and previously assisted in the thrift shop.

Darlene loved to follow the activities of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was spending time with family whom she loved dearly. Darlene was their biggest cheerleader, supported them in all they did, and loved them unconditionally. Darlene had a beloved companion of 17 years, her cat, Lovey.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Berva and Ralph DeCow, and one brother, Ron DeCow.

Surviving to honor her memory is one son, David Trollope (Kristy), Porter, TX; one daughter, Robin Roesky (Bob), Coffeyville, KS; two brothers, Marvin DeCow (Mai), Wichita, KS and Terry DeCow, Edna KS; five grandchildren, Rachel Jordan (Luke), Erica Trollope, Matthew Roesky, Nicholas Roesky, and Olivia Roesky; and two great grandsons, Henry and Howard Jordan, and many extended family members.

The family will have visitation on Sunday, January 25th from 3 PM to 5 PM at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, located at 2405 Woodland Avenue, in Coffeyville.

Services will take place Monday, January 26th at 10 AM, at the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. A procession will follow to Lake Creek Cemetery for burial.
