Obituary

David Dwayne Liming, age 72, passed away at his home in Coffeyville, Kansas.

David was born to Melvin and Helen (Franklin) Liming in Coffeyville and was an only child. He attended school in Coffeyville where he completed his education.

David was employed at several places of employment over his working career but will be most remembered by the patrons of Nu-Way Foodliner and Wal-Mart where he worked until his retirement.

On October 8, 1993, he married Lori Todd and of that union one son was born, David Edward, lovingly known as DJ. Though David and Lori divorced their love for their child remained.

David had a great interest in aviation, first began with becoming a pilot of RC/Model Airplane and then ventured on to obtain his pilot’s license where he thoroughly enjoyed flying high in the sky.

He was a member of Southern Baptist Church, volunteered at the Dalton Defenders & Coffeyville History Museum, participated in the annual reenactment of the Dalton Raid of 1982. In his spare time, he also enjoyed wetting a line at his favorite fishing spot. David was also active in both the Coffeyville Police Department and Montgomery County Sherriff reserves.

David is survived by his son DJ Liming, his cousin Sherry Garretson and husband Robert whom he was especially close to as they also worked together, and friends.

David’s wishes were to be cremated under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. For those who wish to assist with final expenses you may do so directly to the funeral home. Service details are pending at this time but will be announced as soon as possible.
