David Page

David Castle Page, 86, of Coffeyville, KS, passed away on August 3, 2018 in Tulsa, OK.

David was born in Merrill, WI to William O. and Virginia Castle Page on May 24, 1932. He went to high school in Merrill and graduated in 1950. Following a year of college he served four years in the United States Air Force where he was a "radio operator" and was deployed to Japan for two years during the Korean War. Federal law and his oath to the Air Force prohibited disclosure of the details of his deployment. He honored that commitment with the same decency and integrity observed by those who knew him throughout his life. On his return from Japan, he attended the University of Wisconsin on the GI Bill. He also wisely followed his mother's counsel concerning a friend of his sister Ann: "I've seen Jeanne Schram around town and she sure is cute. You should call her." David and Jeanne married in 1957. He completed his degree in Business Administration with a minor in Animal Husbandry from Wisconsin in 1959.

After graduation, he joined the family business, the Page Milk Company, which first brought him to Coffeyville, KS, where he and Jeanne started their family. He held a number of executive positions with Page Milk in Coffeyville and Tulsa. Later in his career he was a human resources executive with Dixon Industries also in Coffeyville. David was very involved in Rotary International where he held a variety of offices including chapter president. He was also involved in numerous other charitable endeavors including President of the Coffeyville Fair and Rodeo, Coffeyville Red Cross Board, Coffeyville Hospital Foundation Board, Coffeyville Chamber of Commerce and Meals on Wheels.

David was a loyal husband, father, grandfather, friend and mentor. He invested his in family, friends, and the Coffeyville community. It is nearly impossible to recall any harsh or unkind remark from David, with the possible exception of those directed at a politician or two. He was endlessly curious and none who knew him was spared his enthusiastic explanations of some new technology about which he had recently read. Without fail, he was present, supportive and faithful. He was fond of saying "Be part of the solution, not part of the problem". His persistent contributions to the solution will be missed.

David is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jeanne S. Page of Coffeyville. He is also survived by his son, Alan W. Page of Dallas and his wife, Kimberly M. Page; his daughter Sarah P. Wells of Oklahoma City and her husband, Bryan J. Wells. David has four granddaughters: Lauren Page Coffman of Dallas (and husband John), Kathryn C. Page of Dallas, Hayden Wells Deberry of Oklahoma City (and husband Indigo) and Chandler Wells Pope of Dallas (and husband TJ). He was preceded in death by his parents. His sister Ann P. Kittell resides in Lincoln, NE. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Coffeyville on August 7 at 10:00 AM with Reverend Nicole Schwartz-Eck officiating. A reception will immediately follow the service and be held at the Coffeyville Country Club. Burial will be private and held in Tulsa. Visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church in Coffeyville on August 6 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home is handling the funeral arrangements.

Memorial donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church in Coffeyville or to the Coffeyville Rotary Club Foundation.
