Debra Lynn "Stamper" Knisley, age 57, of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Wednesday March 16, 2016 after a recent diagnosis of stage IV metastic cancer.
Deb was born on March 23, 1958 in Coffeyville, KS to Leon and Doris (Miller) Stamper. She grew up in South Coffeyville and attended elementary school there. She graduated from Lenepah High School in 1976, where she played basketball, softball, and was vice-president of FHA.
In the early 80's Deb married Jerry Transue. They later divorced, after being together for over 10 years. She later married Michael O'Connell with whom she had a son, Branden O'Connell, they later divorced. Becoming a mother was the happiest time in her life and her greatest accomplishment. Her son Branden was her world. She had always been like a 2nd mother to her two nieces and her son's friends as they were growing up, and will be greatly missed by all. Deb fell in love with C.L. Knisley whom she married on April 16, 2006. He preceded her in death in August 2009.
Deb's hobbies included fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors. She also enjoyed playing pool and slot machines. She recently retired from Republic Services (formally Pacman) due to her illness. She was the operations manager and had been employed there for over 23 years.
Left to honor her memory is her son Branden, Parents Leon and Doris, sister, Jody Kitch, niece's Lacey Redmond her husband John, Amber Lopez her husband Miguel, great-nephews, Braylon, Omari, Gabriel, and Caelan, great-niece, Khloe, cousins Kyle Gillespie, Chris Miller, Russell and Suzanne Miller, Uncle Joe Miller his wife Cheryl, Aunt, Pam Stamper and cousin, Derek Stamper, God-daughter Charla Bowshier, and close friend Lisa Lowry. She was preceded in death by her husband CL Knisley, uncles, C. R. Miller, Danny Stamper, Aunt Sharon Gillespie, Cousin Becky Gillespie and her grandparents.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday March 19, 2016 at Emmanuel Chapel in South Coffeyville, OK at 10:00 am with Pastor Jimmy Harrington officiating. Interment will follow at Martin Cemetery in Childers, OK. Friends are invited to sign the register and greet the family on Friday March 18, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel.
