Dixie Phillips

Dixie L. Phillips, 65, of Chanute, Kansas passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Medicalodge in Coffeyville.

Dixie was born on July 22, 1948 in Washington, Iowa to Richard and Ethel Morgan Sieren. She grew up in Washington where she received her high school education. She was united in marriage to Dennis Teel. The couple made their home in Washington, Iowa. They later moved to Tyro, Kansas where Dixie worked for KopCo for many years. The couple later divorced.

Dixie then lived in Chanute, Kansas where she worked as a cook for the Chanute Regional Memorial Hospital for fourteen years. She enjoyed music, dancing, cooking and most of all spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Surviving to honor her memory are her children, Mechell Roberts and husband, Darrel of Clinton, Missouri, Richard Teel and companion, Millie of Kiana, Alaska, Julie Teel Crawford and fianc James Behr of Plymouth, Wisconsin, Scott Teel of Chanute, Kansas and companion, Shawna of Coffeyville, Kansas grandchildren, Manley, Hannah and Daniel Kinkel, Andrea Teel, Kylea Twitchell, twins, Kelsea Kenzea Crawford a brother, Richard Sieren and his wife, Chris of Ainsworth, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Ethel and by a brother, Dennis Sieren.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 22, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Kansas. Chaplain Mike Graham will officiate. Friends may call on Friday morning from 8 am until the time of service to sign the guest register at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to Medicalodge of Coffeyville these may be left with the funeral home.
