Donna Jensen

Donna Lou Jensen joined her Lord and Savior as well as her beloved husband of more than 50 years on May 1, 2014 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville, KS.

She was born on August 19, 1932 in Centralia, OK to Ed and Leota Palmer Richardson. She graduated from Centralia High School. She worked at Phillips in Bartlesville.

In 1954 Donna married Roy Owens and they made their home in Coffeyville. He was killed in a car accident in 1959.

On April 26, 1962 she married the love of her life, James B. Jimmy Jensen in Coffeyville, KS. They combined their family of six children and raised them at their country home in rural Labette County.

In addition to raising their six children, Donna enjoyed sewing, gardening, canning, and cooking as well as participating in their various church and 4H activities.

After their children were grown, she joined her husband in the daily operations of the company they built together, Jensen International. She was Vice President and Office Manager at the time she retired.

Donna was active in the Tyro Christian Church until her health prevented it, assisting with many things from Bible School to greeter. In addition she served on the Salvation Army Board of Directors.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Ray Richardson, one granddaughter, and her beloved husband, J.B.,who passed away in November, 2013.

Living to cherish her memory are children and spouses, Diane Jericho, Coffeyville, Dennis and Jan Owens, Columbia, MO, James and Peggy Jensen, Lucasville, OH, Monte and Mary Owens, Kim and Mike Hughey, and Eric and Velena Jensen, Coffeyville, 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

She was a loving wife, mother, motherinlaw, grandmother and friend. Her gentle loving nature will always be treasured and remembered.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM, Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville, KS. Evangelist David Bycroft will officiate. A private burial will be conducted. Friends may call Monday from 12:008:00 PM, with family present from 6:007:00 PM.

Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the Coffeyville Salvation Army and may be left at the funeral home.
