Donna Rutter

Donna Ruth Rutter, age 86, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 16th 2018 after a courageous battle with cancer with her loving sister by her side.

Donna was born on November 12th, 1931 in Parsons, KS to Raymond Oscar Rutter and Dorothy Wynona (Dains) Rutter. Donna was a successful career woman who learned at a young age the value of hard work. She grew up helping in the family business, Rutter's Grocery, in Edna, KS. She was office manager at Page Milk Co., Director of Accounting at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center and a business owner herself. Donna loved to keep busy and after her retirement worked part time at Windsor Place in medical records for a number of years.

She was known by "Aunt Donna" to everyone she met. Family was everything to Donna; she enjoyed cooking, football, and hosting family get-togethers. Donna had an adventurous spirit and loved travelling; one memory she spoke of often was visiting her brother in Europe. She was a life long learner who loved to make a difference. The world was a better place with her in it.

She was survived by her sister, Mary Bodenhamer, of Coffeyville, KS. She was the beloved Aunt of Becky Zoric (Steve) of Falmouth, Virginia; Rick Bodenhamer, of Coffeyville, KS; Karen Gavrilys (Ted), of Coffeyville, KS and Anouk Rutter of Maputo, Mozambique. Donna was also survived by her great-nieces and nephew and numerous great-great nieces and nephews. They were her pride and joy.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, brother Richard Rutter, nephew David Rutter, and great-niece Jamie Lee.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or the charity of your choice. Cremation has taken place at her request.
