Dorothy Madeline Smith, 80, Coffeyville, passed away Friday, December 9, 2005, at her home. She was born April 27, 1925, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the daughter of Samuel and Margaret H. Andres Morris. She has lived in Coffeyville since 1933. Dorothy was a Certified Med Aid having worked for Medicalodge East in Coffeyville for 33 years. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church where she belonged the the Altar Society. During W.W. II she moved to California and worked for Ryan Aircraft. She later worked for Bell Telephone as an operator. She met her husband Wildon F. Frank Smith while he was serving in the U.S. Navy.They were married February 1, 1946, in Yuma, Arizona. Survivors include: Husband Frank Smith of the home in Coffeyville 3 Sons: Curtis F. Smith Coffeyville, Kansas Terry L. Smith Independence, Kansas Timothy James Smith Tulsa, Oklahoma 2 Daughters: Marilyn Torrance Winfield, Kansas Rita Johnson Ponca City, Oklahoma 1 Brother: Sam Morris Parsons, Kansas 1 Sister: Mary Morris Coffeyville, Kansas 11 Grandchidren 5 Great Grandchildren She was preceded in death by a twin infant daughter Carolyn Smith. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters Elsie Perkins and Marcella Richards. A funeral mass will take place 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 13, at the Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville. Interment will follow the service at Calvary Cemetery. Mrs. Smith will lie in state from 3-8:00 p.m. Sunday and 8-8:00 p.m. Monday at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home in Coffeyville. A rosary service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home followed by a family visitation. Memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society and Harry Hynes Hospice left in care of the funeral home.
