Dorothy Mae Kimmons Age 68, of Coffeyville, Kansas died Monday afternoon, March 7, 2005 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Kimmons was born on April 17, 1936 in Lamar, Missouri to Forrest and Lucrica Zinn Gossett. She attended Labette County High School, graduating in 1954. On April 29, 1956 she married Hugh Jay Kimmons in Oswego, Kansas. The couple made their home in Chetopa, Kansas before moving to the Coffeyville community in 1958. Mr. Kimmons survives her at Route 5, Coffeyville. Her employment included Lee Garment Factory, of Chetopa; Pepsi Bottling Company; Neil Todd Upholstery and Western Publishing, all of Coffeyville. She enjoyed quilting, knitting, crocheting, camping and traveling. But, most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family. Mrs. Kimmons was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church; Altar Society and Quilting Club of Holy Name Catholic Church. She is also survived by: one son, Michael Kimmons, of Coffeyville, KS two daughters, Saundra Ferguson, of Coffeyville, KS Janet Reynolds, of Coffeyville, KS two brothers, Jim Gossett, of Udall, KS Douglas Gossett, of Wichita, KS two sisters, Carolyn Wilson, of Parsons, KS Nancy Opitz, of Jenks, OK six grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, John Gossett; two sisters, JoAnn Gossett and Frances Burrows. Mass will be celebrated 10 am, Friday, March 11 at Holy Name Catholic Church with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Chetopa, Kansas. Father Mike Maybrier will officiate. A rosary service will be 7 pm, Thursday, at Holy Name. Friends may call Thursday, 8 am until 5 pm at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, Coffeyville. Memorials may be given to Holy Name Catholic Church Building Fund and may be left at the funeral home.
