Elizabeth Anne Powell, 37 of Coffeyville Kansas passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family on August 14, 2026. She was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, niece and friend.
Elizabeth (Beth) was born on February 19, 1989, in Coffeyville Kansas to Duane and Brenda Powell. Beth attended local schools and Graduated from Field Kindley Memorial high school in 2007. Beth Grew up with a passion for children. After earning her degree in social work from Pittsburg State University she spent her Career advocating for foster children and foster families at KVC.
Beyond Beths career she was an active member of First Southern Baptist Church in Coffeyville. She was an avid reader and Hiland cow collector. Beth was a source of unconditional love for her friends and family and had an ability to make every person feel seen, valued and heard.
When the Diagnosis of brain cancer came, Beth faced it the same way she faced everything in life: with her faith in the lord, determination and Humor. Cancer took a lot of things from Beth, but it never took her spirit. It never diminished her smile, and it never stopped her from asking how others are doing, even on her hardest days.
In this battle Beth showed us what true strength looks like. It wasn't just about fighting the disease; it was about choosing joy in her trials. It was laughter shared in hospital rooms, the quiet moments holding hands and her stubborn refusal to let a diagnosis dictate her love for life.
Beth is preceded in death by her Grandparents Dean and Marguerette Powell, Uncle Roger Powell and Uncle Jerry and Aunt Linda Sjolander, Grandparents Paul and Betty White and Aunt Renee White.
She is survived by her parents Duane and Brenda Powell; brother Brian Powell and wife Cassie Powell their three children Avery, Danielle and Ella; sister Jennifer Akins and husband Nicholas Akins their four children Karsen, Kage, Keegen and Sterling; Uncle James and Aunt Sonya Cantrell; Uncle Micheal White, and Aunt Sandy Powell, with many cousins.
Beth did not lose a battle; she won our endless admiration. She taught us how to cherish the days we have and how to love one another unconditionally. You are resting in the arms of the Lord, Beth. Your fight is over, your pain is gone, and your beautiful legacy lives on in every single one of us.
