Elsie Fast

Elsie Mae Fast, age 94, of Coffeyville, KS passed away on December 16, 2015 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.

Elsie was born on February 6, 1921 in Wann, Oklahoma to Robert Lee Brooks and Mable (Roberts). She attended and graduated from Wann High School. After graduation Elsie met and later married Logan Hodges in 1942. The couple made their home in Tyro, KS. To this union the couple was blessed with 2 children, Logan "Pete" and Frances. Sadly Mr. Hodges passed away in 1947. In 1949 Elsie married Warren Fast and the couple had a son Phillip. Elsie found work as a secretary for Jones Bakery, Ivan Marrow, and later in life managed the Senior Center retiring in 2005 at the age of 85. Elsie was a hardworking lady that always found time for her family. She was a classy lady that was always kind and gentle.

Left to honor her memory is her sons Logan Dale "Pete" Hodges and Phillip Fast, sisters Ruth Walker, Ida Lee Rosson, Ruby Jo Browning, and Mary Heale, grandchildren; Stephen Harris (Rita) and Natalie Adamson and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands; Logan Hodges and Warren Fast, daughter; Frances, brothers; Lee Brooks, Johnny Brooks, Robert Brooks, sisters; Dorothy Horne and Lula Brooks, and grandchild Leah Harris.

A graveside service under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel will be held on Tuesday December 22, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Robbins Cemetery with Pastor Randy DePriest of First Assembly of God Church officiating. Friends are invited to sign the register on Monday December 21, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Chapel. To leave the family a message of condolence please visit www.fordwulfbrunschapel.com
