Erma Lou Hensley 1923-2005 Erma Lou Stephens Hensley, age 81, a South Coffeyville, Oklahoma resident passed away on January 19, 2005 at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, Coffeyville, Kansas. She was born April 3, 1923 in Hollis, Harmon County, Oklahoma to Ernest June and Jane Elizabeth Moss Stephens. She attended Grade School and High School in Hollis. As a teenager she moved with her family to Alpena, Arkansas. She graduated from Alpena High School in 1942. On May 25, 1942 she married Lee Roy Hensley, Jr.. He preceded her into rest on March 14, 1995. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Hensley retired from Coffeyville Regional Medical Center as a C.N.A. in the middle 80s. She attended the First Southern Baptist Church of Coffeyville. She was a past member of the Order of Eastern Star. Her hobbies included quilting, gardening and most of all spending time with her loving family. Survivors include: one son John Hensley and wife Allene of Erie, Kansas; one daughter, Jeannette Hough of Talala, Oklahoma; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Betty Stephens, Independence, Kansas. Five brothers: AJ Stephens, Billings, Montana Dewey Stephens, Alpena, Arkansas Edwin Stephens, Wichita, Kansas Denzil Stephens, El Dorado, Kansas Willie Stephens, Wichita, Kansas Raymond Stephens, Dighton, Kansas She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Mary Atchley, one brother, Herschel Stephens, one infant sister, Liketa Stephens. Friends and family may call at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf- Bruns Chapel on Friday, January 21, 2005 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 22, 2005 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2400 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas. Burial will follow in the North Edna Cemetery, Edna, Kansas. Pastor Larry Jordan of Erie Federated Church will be officiating. Family has suggested memorial contributions to American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association. co of Funeral Home.
