Ethellee Roland-Pearson

Ethellee RolandPearson was born in Coffeyville, Kansas, November 4th, 1928 to Emma and Julius French. She was the youngest of three sisters, the oldest being Opal Duncan, and then following Doris Anderson. On July 26th, 2014, at the rich age of 85, Ethellee entered into eternal life in the arms of Jesus.

As a teenager, Ethellee along with her mother moved to California, where she met and married Vance E. Roland on March 17th, 1947. Together they had five beautiful children, Gwendolyn Joyce Jefferson, Gregory Roland, Michele Inise Roland, Valerie Roland and Colette Roland. To her family, she was truly a virtuous women following the scripture of Proverbs 31, being the best wife, mother and homemaker she could be all while working outside of the home.

After a wonderful life in California and the passing of her husband, she decided to move back home to Coffeyville, KS. She married a longtime friend, John Pearson from Washington, D.C. He also was blessed by her faithfulness and love for Christ which lead him to know Christ for himself.

Ethellee came to know Christ at an early age, where she developed a strong relationship with God being active in her church while in California and Kansas. Her daily Christian walk consisted of purposing herself to be an example of Gods love, a testimony to His goodness and never failing to share Gods Word to anyone who crossed her path. She continued to remain faithful and stand on the promises of God even until her last breath.

Preceding her in death are her parents, 2 sisters, Opal Duncan and Doris Anderson, husbands Vance E. Roland, John Pearson, 1 son Gregory Roland, 1 daughter Colette Roland.

Ethellee leaves to cherish her memory her 3 daughters, Gwendolyn Jefferson, Michele Roland and Valerie Roland 5 Grandchildren, Michael Griffin, Brian Griffin, Khalani Britt, Brittini Alberty, Kameron RolandHart 14 Greatgrandchildren 1 Great Greatgrand child and a host of nieces and nephews. They will celebrate her life and legacy as a great woman of God. She also leaves a host of brothers and sisters in Christ in California, Arizona, and Kansas.

Celebration of Life Services will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Sardis Baptist Church 414 E 2nd Street, Coffeyville, Kansas at 2:00 pm, under the direction of FordWulfBruns Chapel. Interment will follow at the Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Coffeyville. Friends may sign the register from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm with the family receiving friends from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the FordWulfBruns Chapel.
