George Yeubanks

George Willard Yeubanks age 82 of Coffeyville passed away on February 10, 2018 at Windsor Place.

Willard was born on April 10, 1935 in Dearing to Floyd Arvel and Virgie Lois (Frye) Yeubanks. He attended school in Coffeyville until the eighth grade when he left school to help out his family of 12 siblings. Willard began working as a butcher for the Coffeyville Packing Company and later at Hoseney's. He met Lorena Mae Grabham and the couple was later married in Coffeyville on November 17, 1956. To this union they were blessed with two sons and a daughter.

After retiring his butcher's knife, Willard and Lorena owned Dearing Family Delight for many years. They later purchased the Country Time Mall and added the Music Theater where his love for music came alive. Lorena would often play the piano and you would find Willard playing his fiddle. He truly had a passion for music, playing the fiddle was his happiness. He even holds 13 Kansas State Fiddle Players Championships to prove his passion. Willard used his fiddle music talent playing dances in area country bands for 50 plus years He also enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, camping, horseshoes and playing fast-pitch softball.

He will be remembered for his friendly demeanor and his willingness to help where he could, always making sure his guests were fed was important to him. Willard and Lorena were members and baptized at the Central Baptist Church, where Lorena would often play the piano and Willard on the Fiddle. Willard was an avid fan of KU Basketball and the Coffeyville Community College Red Ravens Basketball and Football Games, but he was truly the greatest fan of his children, they were his pride.

Willard's memories will live on with his wife Lorena, his sons, Ricky Lee Yeubanks his significant other Lisa Palmer, and Benny Ray Yeubanks his wife Kay, his daughter Debra Kay Thompson her husband Nicky, brother Ronald Yeubanks, sister Gloria Kuehn, grandchildren, Ashley Horick her husband Ryan, Amy Jantz her husband John, Abby Jontra her husband Travis, Kristina Thompson, Cody Thompson, Bradley Yeubanks his wife Hannah, Brandon Yeubanks, Brett Yeubanks, step-grandchildren Sara Sisco and Blake Davis his wife Kylie, great-grandchildren, Owen Horick, Weston Jantz, Brexlyn Jontra, Brycen Yeubanks.

He now rests with his parents, 5 brothers and 5 sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 16, 2018 at 1:00pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Fairview Cemetery. Friends are invited to sign the register and greet the family on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at the Chapel. The family suggests memorials be made payable to Coffeyville Community College Foundation Basketball or Football Scholarship Programs and they may be sent in care of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
