Georgia Helen Nunn Cochran Age 96 May 22, 1908 October 31, 2004 Georgia Helen Nunn Cochran, age 96, passed away on October 31, 2004 at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, Coffeyville, Kansas in the Skilled Nursing Unit. She was born on May 22, 1908 in Blackford, Kentucky to George and Ermon Cain Nunn. She attended Marion Grade School. She was a 1926 graduate of Marion High School. She attended Logan Womens College at Russellville, Kentucky for two years. She also attended Western Kentucky State Teachers College in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Mrs. Cochran taught in a one room elementary school in Kentucky. She was employed by Kentucky Utilities as a Sales Representative for 10 years. On August 6, 1939 she married Thomas Cochran in Marion, Kentucky. They lived in Washington, DC until they returned to Marion, Kentucky where they owned and operated Cochran Hardware and Cochran Supply Company. Mr. Cochran preceded her in death in 1966. After Mr. Cochrans death she continued the family business until she retired in 1973. She was a director of the Farmers Bank and Trust Company in Marion, Kentucky. Her memberships included Marion Methodist Church Marion Womens Club. She is survived by two daughters: Jane Cochran, Atlanta, Georgia and Helen Ellerman and husband Don of Coffeyville, Kansas one granddaughter, Sarah Ellerman of Washington, DC. one niece Judy Galitzine, Louisville, Kentucky two nephews, David Nunn, Tuscaloosa, Alabama John Lamb, Augusta, Georgia She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Anna Lamb Christine Abbott, one brother, Douglas Nunn. Memorial Services and Burial will take place later this week in Marion, Kentucky. Gilbert Funeral Home, 117 W. Belleville, Marion, Kentucky is in charge of Arrangements. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home, 1117 W 8th Street, Coffeyville, Kansas 67337 are handling arrangements locally. Memorial contributions may be given to the Marion Methodist Church. co Gilbert Funeral Home.
