IRMA ALTA PERKINS Age 86, formerly of Coffeyville, Kansas died Tuesday evening, July 27, 2004 at Royal Care Center, Excelsior Springs, Missouri. Mrs. Perkins was born February 5, 1918 in Delaware, Oklahoma to Jacob and Zilla Mae Myers Roberts. She grew up in rural Coffeyville, Kansas and attended Banks District 91 School. On October 9, 1937 she married Ralph Albert Perkins in Independence, Kansas. Following their marriage, the couple moved to Nowata County, Oklahoma followed by a move to Kansas City, Missouri in 1958. Mrs. Perkins was retired from St. Josephs Hospital in Kansas City after 35 years. Prior to that, she had been employed at Roberts Laundry in Coffeyville. After her retirement, the couple moved Coffeyville in 1990. Mr. Perkins preceded her in death October 16, 1997. She was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Wann, Oklahoma. Mrs. Perkins is survived by: Four sons, Howard Roberts, of Coffeyville, KS Gary Perkins, of Kansas City, MO Alfred Perkins, of Kansas City, MO Tom Perkins, of Archie, MO One daughter, Margaret Longpine, of Bartlesville, OK 20 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step great-great-grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Eunice Lewis; five brothers; three sisters. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Saturday, July 31 at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, with burial in Robbins Cemetery, west of Coffeyville. Brother Robert Glascow will officiate. Family will receive guests Friday evening, 6:30 until 8 p.m. at the chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. Memorials may be given to Alzheimers Disease and Related Disorders Association or Pleasant Valley Baptist Church and may be left at the funeral home.
