J. L. Junior Allison, 93, of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at his daughters home.

Junior was born on August 1, 1920 in rural McAlester, Oklahoma to W. L. and Radie Parker Allison. He lived in McAlester until he was 8 years old. At that time he moved to the WeimerBig Creek community in Nowata County Oklahoma.

On November 9, 1946 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Dott Caldwell. The couple made their home in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma. He farmed and raised cattle. Junior worked at Continental Can in Coffeyville, Kansas for a few years while still farming and raising cattle. They had 3 children: Tony, Vicky and Rockey. Tony preceded him in death in December 1988. Dott preceded him in death in 1999.

Junior is survived by his daughter, Vicky Thomas and husband, Bill son, Rockey Allison and wife, Karon all of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma daughterinlaw, Pam Wheeler of New Castle, Oklahoma sister, Arthur Mae Rogers of Coffeyville, Kansas grandchildren, Chad Allison and wife, Jenny of Moore, Oklahoma, Christy McCune and husband, Steve of Blanchard, Oklahoma, Jeremy Thomas of Springfield, Missouri, Brian Allison and wife, Mendy of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, Marc Thomas and wife, Kay of Coffeyville, Kansas, Sarah Mattox and husband, Larry of Depew, Oklahoma nine great grandchildren and one great grandchild on the way.

In addition to his loving wife and son preceding him in death he was also preceded by his parents, W.L. and Radie Allison brothers, Claude Allison, Frank Moore, Joe Allison sisters, Velma Pitts, Alma Lee Howe and Elma Knight.

Junior loved the Lord and was always ready to tell others about Jesus

A Graveside Service will be held on Friday, October 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mount Washington Cemetery in Lenapah, Oklahoma.

Friends may call on Thursday, October 10, 2013 from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. at FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Kansas to sign the guest register. The family will greet friends Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.

The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to Hope Hospice these may be left with the funeral home.
