Jack W. Gilstrap, age 92 formerly of Coffeyville entered his Heavenly resting place on January 9, 2018 at Oswego Health and Rehab in Oswego, Kansas.

Jack was born on October 10, 1925 to Charles and Nancy (Mitchell) Gilstrap in Coffeyville, Kansas. Jack attended Coffeyville Schools. On January 24, 1951 Jack was inducted into the United States Army where he served for two years receiving his honorable discharge on January 23, 1953. After returning from the service Jack went to work for Funk Manufacturing as a carpenter. In 1965 Jack met the love of his life Ruth Smith, they were united in marriage on June 25, 1965 in the Assembly of God Church in Coffeyville. Together they resided in Coffeyville until 1976 when Jack resigned at Funk Manufacturing to move to Ocala, Florida to take a new job to work for Clarison International until 1987 when he retired. The couple then moved back to Coffeyville in 2001, then resided in Bartlesville, Oklahoma and their last move was to Oswego, Kansas were they remained until their passing. Jack enjoyed wood working and helping others.

Jack and Ruth were not blessed with children but they enjoyed traveling together and each other's company, making the most of life together. Now resting together as Ruth preceded Jack in death on January 10, 2017. Jack also rest now with his parents, grandparents, and sister.

Those to cherish Jack's memory are his sister-in-law, Naomi Elliott, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel of Coffeyville. Pastor Bill Wright will be officiating. To leave a message of condolence for the family visit www.fordwulfburnschapel.com
