Janet Meeker

Janet M. Meeker, 73, formerly of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Hill Country Rehab and Nursing Center in Copperas Cove, Texas.

Janet was born on August 27, 1941 in Cincinnati, Ohio to Stilfred and Clara Leder, the oldest of three children. She grew up in Cincinnati where she received her high school education. She also attended college. On November 23, 1961 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Thomas C. Meeker at the Saint Johns Church, Deer Park, Ohio. They made their home in Cincinnati. They moved to Springfield, Missouri in 1981. They later moved to Coffeyville, Kansas in 1987. Thomas preceded her in death on September 28, 2006. In 2008, she moved to Orange Park, Florida. Then she moved to Copperas Cove, Texas in 2012.

Janet was a secretary for local medical offices. She was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church in Coffeyville, Kansas. She enjoyed sewing, making purses and spending time with her family.

Surviving to honor her memory are her daughter, Michele Schultz and husband, John of Copperas Cove, Texas Kevin Meeker and wife, Barbara of Fernandina Beach, Florida grandchildren, Timothy Schultz and wife, Sarah of Morgans Point, Texas, Thomas Schultz and wife, Jamie of Copperas Cove, Texas, Tanya Schultz and fianc James Belviy of Copperas Cove, Texas, Brooke Royal of Fernandina Beach, Florida and Chandler Covel great grandchildren, Keagan Sullivan and Caylee Schultz of Copperas Cove, Texas, Dallas Belviy of Copperas Cove, Texas and a great grandson on the way brother, James Leder and wife, Pat of Cincinnati, Ohio baby brother, Terry Leder and wife, Cindy of Middleburg, Florida.
In addition to her loving husband, Thomas she was also preceded in death by her parents, Stilfred and Clara sons, Michael, Jeff and his twin.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Holy Name Catholic Church on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Coffeyville. Father Chard Arnold will officiate.

Rosary services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, 2014 at Holy Name Catholic Church.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 12, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Holy Name Catholic Church.

The family suggests memorial contributions can be made payable to the National Kidney Center, 20081 Whistling Straits Place, Ashburn, VA 20147 these may also be left with the funeral home.
