John Tosh

Johnny F. Tosh age 75, of Pittsburg formerly of Coffeyville, passed away on February 23, 2016 at his home.

John was born on September 19, 1940 in Coffeyville to John and Louise (Sprague) Tosh. John was raised in Coffeyville and attended Coffeyville Schools. After high school he started driving over the road for various employers. While working in Wichita John met Sharolyn Poore, the couple started dating and later married on November 27, 1967 in Wichita, where they made their home. They later moved to Coffeyville until moving to Pittsburg. John retired from Turnpike Transit and started working as security for Independence High School. John was a dedicated employee and enjoyed his work. He loved to travel, he also enjoyed woodworking, but most of all spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren was his all-time favorite hobby. John loved to have fun and always made the people around him laugh and smile.

Left to honor his memory is his wife, Sharolyn of the home, children, Kimberly Curiel (Ron) of Newton, KS, Angela Williams (David) of Marion, KS, Frank Beshears (Cindy) of Independence, KS , Randy Tosh (Rebecca) of Pittsburg, KS, Larry Tosh and Johnny Tosh both of Coffeyville, Jeanie Hill of Judsonia, AR, Regina Kinnison of Bartlesville, OK, Marilyn Starnes of Coffeyville, KS, and Kristy Holder of Moore, OK, brothers Steve Tosh (Nisha), Jimmy Tosh (Julie), Clarence Tosh (Judy), Kenneth Tosh, sisters, Martha McCurley (Dave) and Sharon Felton (Tim). He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Charles and Joe Tosh.

Funeral services will be held on Monday February 29, 2016 at 1:00p.m. at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel with Pastor Bill Knight of the Independence First Church of the Nazarene officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Friends are invited to the Chapel to sign the register and greet the family on Sunday the 28th from 2:00p.m. to 4:00p.m. The family suggests memorials to the Independence Bulldog Boosters and may be left with the Chapel.
