John W. Vannoster 1946-2005 John W. Vannoster, age 58, rural Coffeyville, Kansas resident, passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2005 at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born September 21, 1946 in Nowata, Oklahoma to Virgil and Martha Noblitt Vannoster. He was a 1965 graduate of Wayside High School. He attended Independence Junior College, Independence, Kansas. On October 23, 1965 he married Betty Metzer in Dearing, Kansas at the Dearing Christian Church. He was a US Army Veteran serving with the 1011 th Reserve Unit of Independence, Kansas. He served during the Vietnam War and was stationed at Bear Cat. Mr. Vannoster worked for private Railroad Car Companies. He was employed for the last twenty years with Watco, Inc. SKO Railroad as a Supervisor of Locomotive Engineer. He was recently appointed Supervisor of Mobile Car Repair. He was a member of the Tyro Christian Church, Tyro, Kansas where he previously served as a Deacon. He also was involved with Teaching Sunday School. His love for the outdoors and hobbies included hunting, fishing, horse back riding and most of all his love for his family and friends. He is survived by his Wife Betty of the home of rural Coffeyville; one son, Gregg Vannoster and wife Deanna, Sterling, Kansas; Three brothers, Archie Gene Vannoster and wife Connie, Jim Vannoster and wife Tammie; Don Vannoster and wife Carolyn all of rural Independence, Kansas; one sister, Virginia Wilson of Independence, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his parents. Calling hours will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on January 18, 2005 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford, Wulf, Bruns Chapel. Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm Tuesday evening at the Funeral Home. Victory Service will be held 2:00 p.m., January 19, 2005 at the Tyro Christian Church. Burial will follow in the Jefferson Cemetery, Jefferson, Kansas. Pastor David Bycroft will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be given to Tyro Christian Church co Penwell-Gabel Ford, Wulf, Bruns Chapel of Coffeyville, Kansas. Special messages may be left at www.penwellgabel.com
