John Whitmore

John A. Whitmore 68, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas. Graveside Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 9, 2018 at the Veterans Memorial Patio with burial to follow in Restlawn Memorial Park in Coffeyville, Kansas. Friends may greet the family on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 5:00pm to 7:00 p.m. at Ford Wulf Bruns Chapel. Memorials may be made to Harry Hynes Hospice and may be left with the chapel.

John was born June 26, 1950 in National City, California to John D. and Doris M. (Allin) Whitmore. John attended and graduated Coffeyville, Kansas Schools. Following his graduation John enlisted in the United States Army serving from 1970-1973 after his honorable discharge from the Army John was employed by Bartlett Flour Mill until his passing. John met Dorothy Robertson at his job at the mill and later married Dorothy on July 15, 1981 in Miami, Oklahoma. John enjoyed fishing, reading, listing to music and telling stories.

John was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Dorothy of the home, one son John A. Whitmore II and wife Angela, Iola, Kansas, one sister Suzanne Whitmore-Munn, Pocatello, Idaho, three grandchildren, Ethan and Devon Whitmore, Aryn White, and his beloved cat Tigger Bear Whitmore.
