Jose Roig, a devoted father, loving brother, and cherished friend, passed away unexpectedly on March 3, 2026, at the age of 56. Born on July 16, 1969, at Mather Air Force Base in California, Jose’s journey through life was marked by his unwavering love for his family, his diverse career path, and his passion for various hobbies. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and a profound appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.
Throughout his life, Jose embraced various roles, from a tow truck driver to working at the family bagel shop alongside his father and brother. His career took him to many places, including Acme, Spears, Matco, AIW, Walmart, Cobalt, KFC, and Braum’s, where he forged lasting relationships with colleagues and customers alike. Jose’s work ethic was a testament to his character; he approached every job with dedication and a smile, making him a beloved figure in his community.
Jose was not only a hardworking man but also a passionate individual who found joy in many hobbies. He took great pride in his lowrider truck, often spending countless hours working on it, showcasing his love for cars. He also cherished the moments spent playing video games with his sons and brothers, where laughter and friendly competition filled the air. Jose was an avid fisherman, enjoying peaceful days on the water surrounded by family and friends, creating memories that would last a lifetime. His love for music spanned genres, reflecting his vibrant personality and the joy he found in life’s rhythms.
Family was the cornerstone of Jose’s existence. He was the proud father of eight children: Ashly, Rochelle, Mathew, Christopher, Alex, Bailey, Joseph, and Aubrey. His love extended beyond his immediate family, as he was a devoted grandfather to five grandchildren: Addy, Aurora, Ayden, Atlas, and Sophia. Jose’s nurturing spirit and warmth were a guiding light to his children and grandchildren, who will carry his love and teachings with them throughout their lives. He is also survived by his parents, Jose and Beverly Roig, and his siblings, Jimmy (Sarah), Wayne (LeeAnn), and Vinalisa (Steven), along with many nieces and nephews who adored him Chelcie,Brandon,David,Kayla,Tyler,Trever,Destine,Zack,Autum,Jett,Michael,Steven,Dolores,Tray,Cylas,Hudson and Knox and lil mikey.
Jose’s journey was not without its challenges. He faced the heartbreaking loss of his son, Alex, which left a profound impact on him and his family. However, through all of life’s trials, Jose remained resilient, finding strength in his faith and the support of his loved ones. He attended Coffeyville First Nazarene Church, where he found comfort and community, nurturing his spirit.he is proceeded in death by his uncle Eddie, Uncle Frankie, Uncle Dwayne, Aunt Judy, Aunt Sonia, nephews Christopher, and nieces Dolores.
In 1998, Jose met Lorrie Parker, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and three children. In 2007, the family moved to Kansas to be closer to relatives, where Jose continued to create a nurturing environment for his children. Although he and Lori eventually went their separate ways, Jose remained a dedicated father, always prioritizing his children’s well-being.
As we remember Jose Roig, we celebrate a life filled with vibrant memories, unwavering love, and a spirit that touched everyone he encountered. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him, reminding us to cherish our families and the moments that bring us joy. A memorial service will be held to honor his life, with details to be announced. Jose’s journey may have come to an end, but the love he shared and the memories he created will forever resonate in the hearts of his family and friends. As Jesus reminds us in John 13:7, “You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand.” Jose’s love and legacy will continue to inspire and guide us all.
Cremation will take place under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. No formal services have been scheduled at this time.
