Lee Roy Scott, 96, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Medicalodge in Coffeyville.

Lee Roy was born on November 26, 1918 in Watson, Oklahoma to Albert and Lou Ethel (Hunter) Scott.

On August 8, 1941 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Myrtle A. Watkins in Mena, Arkansas. The couple made their home in Hatton, Arkansas for 12 years then moving to Coffeyville in 1952. Lee Roy and Myrtle had three daughters, Barbara, Bonnie and Freda. He was "Papper" to 24 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. Lee Roy and Myrtle enjoyed traveling; pulling their travel trailer they visited 48 of the 50 states, also including Canada in their travels. Lee Roy was a Deacon for 63 years, member of the Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church of Coffeyville for 56 years, Sunday School Teacher for 56 years, Training Union for 25 years; a member of the Church Choir; and of the Bethel Church Builders for 12 years, CRMC Auxiliary for 16 years during his time as a volunteer at CRMC he was awarded the Auxiliary Volunteer of the Year Award; and was a member of the I.U.E.O. for 56 years and. He worked for over 30 years at Farmland Industries until his retirement. He loved to fish but most of all he loved the time he spent surrounded by his family and friends.

Lee Roy is survived by his loving daughters, Barbara Hilton and her husband, Ken of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, Bonnie Nolte and her husband, Dale of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma and son-in-law, Norman Drews of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Russell Miller and wife, Suzanne of Lake St. Louis, Missouri, Chris Miller of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, Dennis Drews and wife, Michelle of Liberty, Missouri, Danny Drews and wife, Kelli of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, Darla Spears of Pittsburg, Kansas, Paula Manley and husband, Kevin of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, Michael Nolte of Collinsville, Oklahoma, Barbara Long and husband, Bryan of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, Ken Hilton and wife, Colleen of Casper, Wyoming; twenty four great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; brother, Andy Scott and wife, Marilyn of Sumpter, Oregon; sisters, Arle Samuels of Annadale, Virginia and Edytha Claudson and husband, Allan of La Grand, Oregon.
He was preceded in death by his beautiful bride, Myrtle; his parents and one daughter, Freda Drews; brothers, Raymond, Nesby and Delbert Scott and sisters, Freda Scott Lillie Manuel and Ima Gean Broaddus.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 11, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., Pastor John Dixon of Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church will be officiating along with retired Rev. Wayne Martin. The family has requested memorial contribution be made payable to the Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church Sound System Fund, these may also be left at the funeral home.
