Marion Allen

Marion Alfred Allen, 90, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Sunday October 13, 2013 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville, Kansas.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm, Friday October 18, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Coffeyville, with Pastor Lee Passwater officiating. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas, under the direction of FordWulfBruns Chapel. A visitation will be held from Noon to 8:00 pm Thursday October 17 at the FordWulfBruns Chapel with family receiving guests from 6:00 pm 8:00 pm. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Trinity United Methodist Church these may be left with the funeral home.

Marion was born August 14, 1923 in Dearing, Kansas to Agustus Peter Allen and Muriel Effie Mead Allen. He attended and graduated from Coffeyville schools. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1943 and received an honorable discharge in 1946.

Marion married Velma Jeane Cole on February 23, 1947 sharing almost 65 years together. Marion and Velma bought and worked a 160 acre farm in 1957, and worked it until he moved to Asbury Village Assisted Living in 2009. He also worked at Exner Dodge for 18 years, and Funk John Deere for 23 years. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church.

Marion is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Velma, his sister Nadine M. Richert, and his only brother Robert E. Allen.

He is survived by his sister Norma Jeanne Snider and her husband Robert.
