Martha “Marty” Jane Hargis, 73, Coffeyville, Kansas passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center in Coffeyville, Kansas. Reciting of the holy Rosary will be recited at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Holy Name Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to follow and interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Ford Wulf Bruns Chapel.
Marty was born November 19, 1947, in Coffeyville, Kansas to Albert and Christine (Upshaw) Alderman. She attended Holy Name Catholic School until the 8th grade then finished her education graduating from Field Kinley High School. Following high school Marty attended Coffeyville Community College where she received her Licensed Practical Nurse certification. She was employed in Tulsa, Oklahoma and then by Coffeyville Regional Medical Center for 35 years before her retirement. Marty loved her faith and life she enjoyed doing bible study and crocheting. Marty will be remembered for always being a mother and a nurse.
Marty was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Arthur and Andrew Alderman, and son-in-law Jeffrey Walter. Those left to cherish her memory include four children, Michael ( Ruby) Marlett, Mammoth Springs, AR; Andrew ( Melissa) Marlett, Bartow, FL; Teressa Tickle, Coffeyville, KS; Susan Walter, Coffeyville, KS; ten grandchildren, Travis ( Hannah ) Tull, Jackson, TN; Trent ( Ani) Gingery, Ecuador; Danielle ( Anthony) Bishop, Independence, KS; Andrea Marlett, Flint, MI; Juan Andrews, Coffeyville, KS; CPL. Austin Marlett, Okinawa, Japan; Nicholas Walter, Coffeyville, KS; Jessica (Starlan) Teaster, Thayer, MO; Elizabeth (Shelby) Mitchell, Salem, AR; Matthew (Bethany) Henderson, Mammoth Springs, AR; six great-grandchildren, one sister, Mary Gower.
