Martha Splechter

Martha Roseann Splechter, age 76, passed away Wednesday, December 9, 2015.

She was born on February 11, 1939 to Oscar and Nellie Turney Smith in Fredonia, Kansas."Roseann" was a homemaker, wife, mother, and an active member of First Assembly of God in Coffeyville, Kansas.She married John "Jack" William Splechter, Sr. on June 7, 1954, and to that union were added seven children. Mrs. Splechter enjoyed music and singing, playing games, going to church, gardening, and spending time with her family. She also loved children. At Windsor Place long-term care facility, where she recently resided, she had wonderful opportunities to read to and interact with Kindergarten students. She enjoyed life to its fullest and was always able to make a house a home.

Mrs. Splechter was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, her parents, three sisters and one brother.
She is survived by three daughters; Kathy Patterson and her husband Paul, of Elk City, Kansas; Martha Talbot and her husband, Michael of Coffeyville, Kansas; Dottie Dozier and her husband, Dwight of Great Bend, Kansas; four sons, John Splechter, Jr. and his wife, Deanne of Arkansas City, Kansas; Donnie Splechter and his wife, Marcy of Coffeyville, Kansas; Matt Splechter and his wife, Christy of North Pole, Alaska; Steven "Buck" Splechter and his wife, Tammy, of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; seventeen grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren; one brother, Bill Smith, of Centreville, Mississippi and a multitude of extended relatives and friends.

Services are under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 11, 2015 at First Assembly of God, Coffeyville, Kansas, with Pastor Randy DePriest officiating.
