Mary Lee Carson Breen, 72, formerly of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Mary Lee was born September 12, 1941 in Coffeyville to James Jarile and Mary Lois Hannah Carson. She grew up in Coffeyville receiving her high school diploma in 1959 from Field Kindley Memorial High School. She continued her education, receiving her Associates Degree from Coffeyville Community College in 1961 and earning her Bachelors Degree from Pittsburg State University in 1963.

In 1964 she was united in marriage to Lynn P. Breen, formerly of Wellington, Kansas. From that union one child, a son, was born. The couple lived in Wichita, Kansas where she worked for the Litwin Corporation, taught school and cofounded World Wide Construction Services, Inc. The family moved to Fredonia, Kansas in 1974 where she worked as office manager for a local insurance office. The couple divorced in 1978.

Mary Lee returned to Coffeyville where she worked for Funk Manufacturing then Coffeyville Community College serving as Registrar. She enjoyed watching college football, basketball, keeping up with current events and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving to honor her memory are her son, Michael A. Breen, his wife, Alma PozoBreen, granddaughter Elisabeth Breen of Palmdale and cousins Pam Payne, Tammy Payne, Terri Payne and Justin Payne of Oklahoma City and Marsha Milam of Atlanta, Georgia. Mary Lee was preceded in death by her parents, James Jarile and Mary Lois Carson.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville, Kansas. Chaplain Mike Graham will officiate. Friends may call on Friday, September 20, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville to sign the guest register. The family requests memorial contributions to be made to the American Cancer Society these may be left with the funeral home.
