On August 15, 2026, Mary Louise Jaimez of Coffeyville, Kansas, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away at age 94, surrounded by family in her home. Her devotion to the Blessed Mother was strong, and her passing on the Assumption was especially meaningful to her family.
Mary was born on October 26, 1931, in Independence, Kansas, to Elugio and Cleofas (Sandoval) Rodriquez. She was one of seven children and grew up in Independence, where she completed her education.
Mary married Alexander Jaimez in 1949 at the age of 18. The couple lived in Independence, Lawrence, and Coffeyville before settling permanently in Coffeyville more than 55 years ago. Alex preceded her in death on January 7, 2021.
In addition to being a homemaker, Mary worked at Med Source for more than 35 years before retiring.
Mary was a devoted Catholic, and her faith was central to her life. She spent many hours reciting the rosary and praying for her family and others. After teaching herself to read, she also spent many hours reading her Bible. Raising her children in the church was especially important to her.
Mary especially loved flowers, birds, and the color purple, she also enjoyed taking walks, looking her best, traveling, roller coasters, Western and Mexican music, and old Western television shows. She loved her family deeply and looked forward to preparing Sunday meals for them until just last year, when it became too difficult. Though she had lived with arthritis pain since age 13, she never complained. She was generous and never materialistic.
Mary is survived by her children, Kathleen Howard, Susan Bradley (Mike), David Jaimez (Brenda), Rebecca Harrah, Donna (Fred Brooks), Diana Yeubanks (Randy), Debby Lawson (Tony), Annette (Scott Bailey), Anthony “Tony” Jaimez, and Annie (Tony Jones); and more than 150 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her children, Alexander “Stevie” Jaimez, Timothy Jaimez, Nicholas Jaimez, Benjamin Jaimez, and Paul Jaimez; and six siblings.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Holy Name Catholic Church, with Father Drew Dellasaga officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Coffeyville. The Rosary will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2026, also at the church at 6pm with the family receiving friends following the Rosary until 8pm. The family suggest memorial contributions may be made payable to Holy Name Church and may be left in care of the chapel.
