MARY LOUISE EVANS TRIEBEL Age 87, formerly of Edna, Kansas died Monday evening, August 2, 2004, at Medical Lodge of Coffeyville. Mrs. Triebel was born September 5, 1916 at rural Altamont, Kansas to Harrell Glen and Pearl Giager Evans. The family later moved to Route 1, Edna, Kansas, where she attended Trenton Grade School and one year at Edna High School. In 1933 she graduated from Labette County Community High School. She later graduated from Coffeyville Junior College, attended college at Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Pittsburg State College. She was a teacher in the Labette County, Kansas area for 35 years. She retired in 1979. On February 29, 1936 she married Leo H. Triebel in Nowata, Oklahoma. Following their marriage, the couple lived on a farm, south of Edna. Mr. Triebel preceded her in death January 10, 1985. Mrs. Triebel was a member of the Edna United Methodist Church; Kansas State Teachers Association and Kansas Public Employment Retirement System. She is survived by: Two sons, Robert Triebel, of Edna, KS Vernon Triebel, of Bartlesville, OK One daughter, Judy Manley, of Afton, OK One brother, Fred Evans. of Wichita, KS 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Paul; two brothers, Arthur and John Evans; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 6, at 10:30 a.m. at the Edna United Methodist Church in Edna, Kansas, with interment at North Edna Cemetery. Pastor Larry Nabours will officiate. Friends may call at the Penwell Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, Coffeyville, from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:30-8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the Edna Library, the Edna museum or the Edna United Methodist Church and may be left at the funeral home.
